Road Trip

So time has flown by I must say. I have been working day and night on a new project for a company called CDBaby.com and it is going to be awesome. One of these days I will post the images from the new site plans.

But as for road trips, it is off the North Dakota for the 4th of July weekend. It will be fun to see how life is in ND. I mean moving from NYC to Portland, ORE was a shock. From Oregon to North Dakota is going to be even more intense.

I will post pictures when I return.
Be well

What a wonderfully world this is. There is a place where one can sell all of his crap to someone else. I have decided that it is time to ebay a shit load of stuff and will launch it on the world sometime today or tomorrow. Everything must go. We have projects to fund and my old crap and ebay are going to be the revenue source.

To give you an example. I sold a logitech mouse that was sitting in my junk drawer for over 5 months for 40 bucks. Now not everything has sold for what I had hoped for, but in the past two months, almost $1000 bucks has been generated from the sale of 20 products.

I figure the pool party is going to cost around 10k to do a months worth of parties. I better start looking for more crap to sell. I will post the link to my ebay store as soon as it goes live.

Happy buying!

Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Birthdays sure are funny. They give you a reason to eat a lot of food. Get a couple of cool gifts and get some drinks. But at what age do the gifts stop coming and there are just cards. I hope no time soon.

I will post more later.

The Candy Man Can

What happens if you have a dream but never attempt to fulfill it? I have two million ideas in my head. I swear. I write them down, I create cheesy websites for them just so I never forget, but nothing comes from it.

The same way with Big Red entertainment If you had no idea who I was you would think that this is some powerful entertainment company. But it is really all smoke and mirrors. DON'T LISTEN TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!

But that has to change. The only way to succeed is to fail. So I am going to announce here to the one or two visitors we are getting the new plan for Big Red Entertainment. I have thought long and hard about what I really want to do. Marketing is my love. Ever since working for an Entertainment company in NYC doing marketing there, I have become addicted. I cant stop thinking of new ideas and how to promote them. So I look forward to some of these projects just a little more then others, because of the opportunity to market, promote and execute. And hopefully turn a dream into a reality.

Here is the game plan for 2004-2005:
  • Sports Sweets www.sportssweets.com Chocolate covered sweets in sports teams colors. I have become so fascinated with this I cant wait to start. I wish I could start now.
  • Work on the 5 movie scripts I have written down story lines for. I will post more about this soon. Of course I don't want to give too much away too soon!!
  • One Nation Under Music. You can read about this in the music section of the Big Red Entertainment site.
  • Launch an independent film store. More on this soon.

I look forward to doing marketing for all these things. I hope in the near future I will be able to bring along some help. There are a couple of people out there I would love to have at BRE as partners and cant wait for the oportunity to bring them on board.

    Take care and be well

A bad case of Blog Block

Wow, it has only been a week and I seem to have Blog Block. I think it is because today is Friday, the weather is nice, there is a big party with big fireworks and did I mention the weather is nice! No rain! Amazing. To bad today is the last day for no rain.

Here is a tip for musicians, screenwriters, storytellers or anyone else of a creative entrepreneurship... MOVE TO PORTLAND!!! I must say if I had no job between September and June, and I spent my time dedicated to my craft, I would have about 10 movie scripts written. It just rains and rains. It is not a heavy rain, but a rain that would really keep me in the house. And since it rains daily in the winter, I would be home and rich with scripts. Hum..

Anyway. Hope if anyone is out there reading this, you have a wonderful weekend yourself. Hopefully your weekend will not be as wet as ours out here and hopefully my Blog block will not last to much longer. So much to tell, so little time!

Found a blast from the past

Well I found a blast from the past ok. Unfortunately it is all in printed material, but I will try to scan or retype it all in for you to see because it is pretty good. I found a poorly written script from 1996 called "The Gamble". A comedy heist about a bunch of losers who want to rob a casino. The second thing I found was the original Big Red Entertainment Press Kit. Boy is this thing amazing.

See Big Red Entertainment always wanted ( and still wants to) be just like Universal Studios. I went to U.S at an early age and fell in love with it. I decided it was something I always wanted to have. I bought a video about the history of U.S when I was 8 or 9. Such a fascinating story that I was determined to have my own. That is where this press kit comes in.

I decided I would put in writing my ideas for creating the worlds largest entertainment company. I will really work on scanning it in because it is something to see, but I will give you some highlights (this was written in 1997 FYI):

  • We have regional offices in: Washington D.C, Hartford CT, Flagler Beach FL, New York NY, Blacksburg VA and Boston MA
  • We have 4 toll-free numbers
  • There were 5 divisions of BRE: Production, Retail Entertainment, Family Entertainment, Innovations and of course Theme Park Entertainment

The best part of looking at this almost 7 years after I wrote it is this:

"This newly created publishing company is said to be "the missing piece" to The Big Red Production Company. Big Red Productions (BiRP) will now be in position to acquire exclusive and original feature film output material. Big Red Publishing plans to release its first books in the new millennium. A planned yearly output of approximately fifteen books in various genres is slated to begin in 2001"

There it is. Word for Word. What I typed up in 1997 and printed for the first time in 1999. WOW! As for the screenplay... Maybe will work to rewrite it. I mean it is 8 years old and what is old is new again. I will keep you updated on what is transpiring. But a funny blast from the past.
